According to council records we have a maternity Natterer's roost in Dinton Church which is a pretty rare thing in this part of the world.
The council are sending out a bat expert, Matthew Dodds, to examine the bat colonies in Dinton Church on this Wednesday, 23rd May at 8:40pm. Mr Dodds is hoping to catch some bats and handle them whilst explaining their history.
This event is open to everyone who wants to come and see the Dinton bats and hear about their history whilst possible even handling them.

PCC Parish Survey 2012
The Faith and Mission committee of the PCC have recently been discussing ways in which we can develop closer links with our village community around us. In order to do this we are planning to visit homes in the newer part of Stone during May and June. A letter will be delivered to the homes a few days before we start visiting so that people will expect us and know why we have come. We will be visiting in pairs. The idea is to ask a few short questions and also to leave information about forthcoming events in the Church. After the visiting we will compile a summary of the answers in our survey and share this with the homes we have visited.
This is a new venture for us and we see it as an important and exciting first step towards fulfilling our commission to go out into the world and share God’s love with others. There will be a meeting at the Vicarage on May 9th at 7.30pm when you can find out more. Phil White, the newly appointed ‘Deanery Mission Enabler’ will be with us to share his own experiences and wisdom in this field so that we can feel prepared before we go out.
Everyone is welcome to the meeting – without committing you to go out visiting. Please come along and find out more so that you can properly consider taking part. You do not need any special skills or qualifications, just a willingness to become one of the team.
‘Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations……….’ Matt 28:18 -19

The weather was cold and dismal but we were all warm and welcoming in the Village Hall for the sale. We decided to charge an entrance fee and from this deduced that we had about 70 visitors who came with one thing in mind – to spend spend spend. We raised about £630.00 for the Flush Fund. A wonderful amount considering the weather.
Thank you so much for everyone who donated their once loved items, toys, and books etc. As usual the refreshments and sandwiches went down a bomb and the home made cakes were the most popular item.
The helpers did so well and we were all so tired but we are all determined to get those toilets installed before being caught short.

Tonight / Tomorrow morning (24th / 25th March) the clocks go forward an hour to BST (British Summer Time). This means you will loose an hour of sleep. If you are coming to church on the Sunday morning please be aware the clocks have changed so you do not arrive late.
Enjoy the nice weather of the summer season.
